Gia, Jake, & Zeke | Family Shoot
The last time I saw Gia and Jake, we were five years younger, no one was married, there was no baby, and we were in Farmington, Maine, where Gia and I went to college (and were roomies for a semester!). Meeting them in Bath, at Gia’s childhood home, I was ready to be greeted by a string of differences. But, when I arrived, it wasn’t change that met me at the door. It was the same sweet couple, and the most perfect extension of their love, seven month old, Zeke. Gia and Jake were generous and kind, just like I remember them. They were gentle with each other (and now their little one), just like I remember them being. They still looked at each other with the same love and appreciation, just like I remember them looking at each other when they got together well over half a decade ago.
It was a beautiful morning - slow, and easy, with a little adventure built in. Zeke deserves a trophy for his tolerance of my camera being in his face for two hours. We ate and caught up, Jake played his guitar, Gia read Zeke (read: all of us) books, I was witness to Zeke’s very first taste of watermelon (he LOVED it), and we sat by the water picking cat o’ nine tales, showing Zeke all the tiny details of this beautiful place in the world, hoping life is just as sweet in five more years.
